After 14 years of 'comatose death', this field came back to life with high enthusiasm from spectators who came from various regions, even abroad.

The event, hosted by the World Peace OrganIzation West Java Region and the Indonesian Sheep and Goat Breeders Association (HPDKI) of Bandung City, with full support from various parties including the Bandung City Government, succeeded in attracting the attention of thousands of spectators.

Since Saturday to Sunday, thousands people have crowded Cimenteng Bandung Dustrict Regency to watch the agility of Garut sheep. After 14 years. we can finally hold the Garut sheep agility art competition here said the Regional Director of the World Peace Organization West Java Region HE. The number of sheep participating was also extraordinary, hundreds in total from Sept 14 upto 15, 2024. The competition is divided into three classes: Class C (maximum 65 kg), Class B (maximum 75 kg), and Class A (above 75 kg).

The farmers from all over West Java attended, starting from Garut, Sukabumi, Jampang, Bogor, to Banten. This is proof that the art of Garut sheep agility is still highly valued and we must preserve it together, said HE. Deden. "With a competition like this, farmers are more enthusiastic about raising livestock. This is an important step so that no more Bandung residents experience malnutrition," he added.

In this event, WPO West Java region also opened tents for MSMEs assisted by KOPMEN EXTRA ARTHA UTAMA for free as a form of support for economic growth and development of MSM.

The winner of the Sheep Agility competition received prizes in the form of a car for 1st place, a motorbike for 2nd place and a cow for 3rd, 4th and 5th place, each amounting to 5 million rupiah, and the losing participants received shopping vouchers at KOPMEN EXTRA ARTHA UTAMA from Bank Mandiri respectively. each. amounting to Rp. 100 thousand, explained HE.
