ABOUT THE WORLD PEACE ORGANIZATION (WPO)


The WORLD PEACE ORGANISATION (WPO) is an, independent and non-aligned International movement of peace action. It is an integral part of the world peace movement and acts in cooperation with other International and national movements. The WPO is the largest International Peace structure, based in 202 countries.

The World Peace Organization was established in 1997 in the city of Basel, which is the third largest city in Switzerland (Switzerland), which is located on the border between Germany and France, Western Europe, initiated by several figures and activists of the World Peace Moral Movement from several countries that have the same perspective and interest in the life of the nation and state in creating the world order based on the independence of each nation, eternal peace and the achievement of social justice and development, for protection of the environment, human rights and cultural heritage, in various parts of the world, through a moral movement towards a new and better civilization, namely World Peace.

 

 THE HISTORY OF WORLD PEACE ORGANIZATION

The World Peace Organization or WPO is an NGO which was established and initiated by some of important and prominent figures as well as history makers in the world peace committee, which was the organization of world peace community from 9 initiator countries that was established in Basel, Switzerland by an Indonesian citizen Dr. Djuyoto Suntani by the name of World Peace Community in the world community it is well-known as The World Peace Committee and in Bahasa is called as Panitia Perdamaian Dunia. Its duty is to prepare the born of The World Peace Organization in one day.

The born of WPO undoubtedly was a historical fact which is the world’s situation and condition that must be managed by some people who are really concerned in peace issue without any affiliations to political interest at national nor international level. All of these things must be created to maintain the peace dignity itself that must be uphold, so it will not be fallen down into short-lived political interests at any time which has the potential to detour to the goal of world peace. The world peace must stand alone above all interests towards a new civilization. The peace needs to be built of a variable which the substance is the interest of individuals that is merely a basic right as God’s creature with all of the freedom of choice that peace is his / her basic need.

They are Bambang Herry Purnomo, Mari Paus, Hudi Wantoro, and Bachtiar Sudjono, the initiators of the born of The World Peace Organization (WPO) which was formerly in form of world peace committee that its duty is to bring forth of an organization in the form of World Peace Organization. As a committee that the role, duty and its function as a committee in the form of a statute basis (agreement) among the world peace initiator of 9 countries mentioned above, by the spirit of togetherness these history makers had determined to make an organization that had been arranged by a world peace committee

The main duty and function of this world peace committee is to prepare the making of World Peace Organization which will be hoped becoming an organization that its vision and mission are proactively to get involved in keeping the world order based on freedom, eternal peace, and social justice as mentioned in the preamble of national constitution 1945, in the capacity of organizing the world peace towards world order of new civilization.

The first moral movement was the beating of world peace icon by the President of Republic Indonesia H.E. Ibu Megawati Soekarno Putri, in Bali after the Bali bombing in 2002. It was a gong as the symbol of world peace as a remark and form of campaign to the world that Indonesia is a peace-loving country in line with its traditional culture that is ready to be a pacifier in the life cycle of world society interaction regarding the world peace issue. That was meant by the President of Republic of Indonesia as a call to the world that Indonesia is a peace-loving nation as well as to neutralize the situation and condition of Indonesia in the eyes of the world after the Bali bombing. After the beating the Gong of the world peace icon in Bali by the President of Republic of Indonesia, next the Gong was brought to Geneva to be campaigned throughout the world nations.

The first moral movement of world peace was remarked by placing the world peace Gong permanently in Penglai city, Shang Dong Province, China. It was directly inaugurated by the President of China HE Mr Hu Jin Tao, while the delegation from Indonesia was released by the Governor of DKI Jakarta Lieutenant General TNI (ret.) Sutiyoso together with Chinese ambassador at that time, HE Mr Lu Shu Min, in Jakarta. 

Next, the permanent placement of world peace icon in some of the world nations such as :in New Delhi, and India was inaugurated by Prime Minister HE Mr Manmohan Singh,  Vientiene city in Laos, Kremnech city in Ukraine, Vukovar city in Croatia, Golodo in Hungry, Paipa city in Columbia, Maputo city, in Mozambique (hasn’t inaugurated yet)

And in Indonesia it was permanently installed by the President of Republic of Indonesia General Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in Ambon city, Kupang NTT, Singkawang city in West Kalimantan, in Palu city Central Sulawesi, in Blitar (The Tomb of The First President of Indonesia Ir. Soekarno), Taman Pintar Jogyakarta, in Ciamis West Java, in Gedung Asia Afrika Bandung city West Java, and many more.

During the period  2021 – 2022, World Peace Committee didn’t have any activities since the Chairman of World Peace Committee passed away on January 18 2021, after the loss of World Peace Committee on December 23 2021, the World Peace Organization was born and initiated by HE Bambang Herry Purnomo, S.H., M.H. who was a Vice President of the World Peace Committee at that time, Bachtiar Sudjono as a Vice President, Hudi Wantoro as a Program Director, and Mari Paus as a Deputy President of Foreign Affairs.

To fill the vacant position of the President of World Peace Committee, so WPC made a presidium to choose a Chief of the Presidium and conduct an election for the new leader of the World Peace Committee, as well as giving the chosen leader a mandate to constitute a board of World Peace Organization at international level.

By acclamation, HE Mr Bambang Herry Purnomo, S.H., M.H. was appointed as the President of World Peace Organization and HE Mr Mari Paus as the Secretary General who was supported at least by international society community and world peace organization from more than 202 nations. It shows a trust and a long journey that wasn’t easy to go through and this was a legitimacy as well as a mandate of organization that must be accomplished to lead the World Peace Organization that has 202 members from some of the world nations throughout 6 continents.

To keep it stronger in performing his duty based on the vision and mission of the World Peace Organization, so the President of World Peace Organization has appointed a Chief Board of Supervisor of the organization that is Lieutenant General TNI (ret.) H. Dr. (HC) Sutiyoso., S.H. throughout his life, he has been serving for the sake of people and nation of  Indonesia until his retirement as well as 27 General retirements had joined in World Peace Organization who will help to manifest the vision and mission of World Peace Organization, in spite of all those 27 high rank military officers are retired but they still have the commitment to be part of moral world peace movement in order to manifest the eternal world peace based on freedom, social justice for the nation and people of Indonesia in the world, as mentioned in the preamble of 1945 national constitution of Republic Indonesia

To make the above mentioned objectives come true than the legitimacy of World Peace organization was established by a legal standing of the organization in form of a foundation, so the operation of organization in making the vision and mission come true is more focus on the social activity projects which is oriented on humanitarian, peace affairs, and education

The management of World Peace Organization at international level has been divided into six continental zones, the management system is made by decentralization system. Each continent will be led by a Vice President and s/he will give coordination to maximum 5 countries in a continental zone.

The main duty and function of the Vice President in a continental zone is to unite and bond the link of culture each nation under his coordination become as one knit of reconciliation that can be re-knit in a community of nations by the coordination of another Vice President in one continental zone, and so on that will be formed as a link and the knitting of diversities as one community of nations in the world as a link and knit as a big family of world in an eternal peace of bond.

If in one continent there are more than five nations, than in one continental zone there will be more than one or two Vice Presidents, so the policy of President of World Peace Organization can be implemented together at once which will be supervised directly by each Vice President in that continental zone which is responsible directly to give report to the President of World Peace Organization. The management structure of World Peace Organization was inaugurated at first on the 22nd of February 2022 by The Chief of Board of Supervisor Lieutenant General (ret.) H. Dr. (HC) Sutiyoso., S.H. in Grand Sahid Hotel, Jakarta.

PRINCIPLES AND OBJECTIVES

 The guiding principles of and objectives of the Peace Organisation are:

a)      Against Imperialist wars and occupation of sovereign countries and nations

b)    Prohibition of all weapons of mass destruction and ending of the arms drive; abolition of foreign military bases; total and universal disarmament under effective international control;

c)   Elimination of all forms of colonialism, neo-colonialism, racism, sexism and other forms of discrimination;

d) Respect for the right of the peoples to sovereignty and independence, essential for the establishment of peace;

e)      Respect of the territorial integrity of states;

f)       Non-interference in the internal affairs of nations;

g)     Establishment of mutually beneficial trade and cultural relations based on friendship and mutual respect;

h)      Peaceful co-existence between states with different political systems;

i)       Negotiations instead of use of force in the settlement of differences between nations

IS PEACE COMMITEE NEEDED?

Peace does not need a committee. If there is a peace committee, it means that war events and/or other acts of cruelty must still be held. Because the function of the Committee is to organize an event that is well planned and formulated in detail. The NGO of Peace is a moral and social movement for people around the world. Providing education about the importance of having a good education such as Moral Education (Morals and attitude ) in order to live a Healthy and Cultured Lifestyle as well as Prosperously.
